Taylor
I was diagnosed with kidney disease when I was 21.
The doctors told me it was caused by strep throat.
I'm now 26 and my life has been put on complete hold due to my kidney failure. I'm now on dialysis, and have been for a little while. I want to be able to work and most of all I want to be a mommy, but unfortunately until I find a new kidney I can't have a baby and that eats me alive on a daily basis. That and not being able to finish college are my biggest fears living with kidney failure.
I don't have a normal life. I wish I had the energy to hangout with my friends and to work. I feel like I've lost all of my independence. I take 16 pills a day, not fun. That barely touches the surface of the daily issues I face. I just want to be healthy and go to school so I can create a successful future for myself.
I want people to be thankful for their health and that they don't have to deal with what I'm going through.
I just want my life back. I have so much I still want to do, but it is near impossible living with kidney failure on dialysis.
