Becoming a living kidney donor really made me who I am. I got to become me. I felt that I found this path for a reason and looking back, I would never trade the experience for anything. I even went on to advocate for awareness, so others can learn what it is like to be a living donor. So in a way, I continue to donate through others by helping them prepare.

Lots of the doctors told me I was a hero. I honestly don't see myself as brave or a hero, and sometimes it made me uncomfortable because I don't know what to say. I am not good at being in the spotlight. I only saw it as helping someone when I could.
